Larry Jeffus

I am a longtime resident of Dallas County and have been active in the Republican Party and my community for many years.  I have enjoyed attending inaugurations for Senator John Cornyn, Congressman Jeb Hensarling, Governor Rick Perry, State Representative Angie Chen Button, and Justice Mary Murphy.  I believe it is important to be informed and involved in our government.  I have traveled to Washington and Austin at my own expense many times to meet and talk with legislators about issues that affect all of us.  I have sat in on Congressional hearings and Texas Senate hearings on health care lawsuit reform and Texas House hearings on appropriations.  I learned at an early age the importance of God and country from my family, my church, and as a member of the Boy Scouts.  I participated continuously in Scouting from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts and on to becoming a Scoutmaster.  After having two daughters, I became involved with the Girl Scouts and served as their troop leader for 4 years.
