Beverly Martell-Dingess for County Clerk |
|
First and foremost, I am not a politician. I simply care about the citizens of Dallas County. I am pleased to announce that I have placed my name on the ballot for Dallas County Clerk. The decision to run seemed like a natural choice for me. I believe that Dallas County residents, attorneys, county personnel, and judges deserve to have an experienced candidate who will work diligently to preserve the integrity of the office. Personnel within this office interact with an assortment of people throughout the North Texas area. The standards that they work reflect in the service that they provide to these citizens.
My qualifications include twenty-three years of service in the Dallas County Clerk’s office in several different positions. I have also worked closely with the judges, county commissioners, and other elected officials during my tenure in the Dallas County Clerk’s office. As a result of this, I am extremely familiar with the various interoffice systems in the Dallas County Clerk’s office. I have built excellent relationships with the clerks, judges, attorneys, and other court personnel; this is one of the most important assets that I bring to the job because these are the people who contribute to the proper functioning of the Dallas County Clerk’s office and who, along with the public, use our services on a daily basis.
My goal is to provide professional administrative support to Dallas County residents and elected officials by providing efficient and reliable service. Because of my extensive knowledge and background concerning the systems and the issues in the Dallas County Clerk’s office, I know that I can provide the leadership needed to promote the most professional and up to date services to the citizens of Dallas. I will raise the morale of the clerks and recruit not only a full time IT technician but a well qualified one who understands the needs of the Dallas County Clerk’s office. I will appoint knowledgeable people as managers and supervisors. I believe that working as a team we can increase the efficiency of the entire County Clerk’s system.
I am a lifelong resident of Dallas County. I graduated from Sunset High School and earned my Associate degree from the Dallas County Community College District. My career with Dallas County began in 1979, which allowed me the good fortune to work under an assortment of Dallas County Clerks; I gained valuable knowledge from each of them.
I have worked in various positions in the Dallas County Clerk’s office in both the Civil and Criminal Divisions. I was a supervisor in the Honorable Judge John McCall’s court and was later promoted to the position of assistant manager of the criminal division. In 2004, I was promoted to manager of the Criminal Division of the County Clerk’s office. While managing that office, I represented the Dallas County Clerk on several committees. I was involved in the AIS project and the Bail bond board and participated in all major changes in the office. I also instituted and conducted monthly meetings with court supervisors making sure that everyone in my Division understood and was on track in the way that the Dallas County Clerk’s Office should function.
During my tenure as Manager of the Criminal Division of the Dallas County Clerks Office, I sincerely cared about the dynamics of the Dallas County Clerk’s Office. I know that good leadership promotes a positive work environment. I have seen this throughout my years in Dallas County. Unfortunately, we are not seeing this now. I will work to make that change.
In my various capacities in the Dallas County Clerk’s Office I saw firsthand Dallas County change and evolve to its present state. I believe that it is imperative that the Dallas County Clerk’s Office focus on the future, and I will bring this new forward-looking perspective to the Dallas County Clerk’s Office.
